When Juliet Nambi was due to have her second child at Kityerera health centre in Mayuge district, she developed complications and was referred to Iganga hospital, about 40 kilometres away. In pain and anxious about her unborn child, she paid 3,000 shillings (about US$1.5) to beĀ transportedĀ on a local motorcycle taxi, known as boda boda . Fortunately, at the district hospital in Iganga, she was able to deliver her child safely.
