Vasectomy
It is a safe and permanent family planning method in which the tubes that carry sperm are cut or sealed to prevent sperm from entering the semen. A backup contraceptive method should be used for the first three months after the procedure.

Bi-lateral Tubal Ligation/Female Sterilization

It is a small operation that closes the tubes that carry the egg from the ovary to the womb (uterus) to prevent sperm and egg from meeting. After operation, the woman will continue to have her periods as usual but cannot become pregnant.

Implants

These are small rods placed under the skin of the inner upper arm. They contain a hormone called progestin that works by blocking sperm from meeting with the egg. There are two methods available: Implanon which protects against pregnancy for 3 years and Jadelle that protects against pregnancy for 5 years.

Benefits of Family Planning and Contraceptive Services
